use:

It is usually used as catalyst in condensation polymerization to produce synthetic phenolic resin. 

Because with its catalysis,the polymerization is easy to control,the resin viscosity is low and solidified rate is high .

The catalyst is easy to remove.

It is also used in water-soluble carbamide chemically-modifying reaction to produce phenol-formaldehyde adhesive .The rudimental bivalent barium salts dose not affect dielectric properties and chemical durability
